Klein Constantia ‘Metis’ Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa
Review Date : 27-Sep-2016
Bright pale straw colour, near colourless on the rim. This has a very fine and tightly bound nose with an array of gooseberry fruit and tropical fruits, along with savoury herbs, the aromatics unfolding in volume with aeration. Dry to taste, the fruit is rich and detailed, with succulent flavours of white stonefruits, fresh herbs, gooseberries and minerals. The fruit sweetness is balanced by a little phenolic grip and texture, with racy, refined acidity lending poise and energy. The acidity carries the wine to a very long finish. Cool-fermented by indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc. and 1.5 g/L RS, the wine aged around 10 months on lees. 18.0+/20 Sep 2016 RRP $48.00
