Klein Constantia ‘KC’ Cabernet/Merlot 2012

Blended Red from South Africa
Review Date : 27-Sep-2016
Dark, deep ruby-red colour. The bouquet is soft and gentle with notes of blackcurrants and savoury funky herbal notes with some stalk elements. On palate quite fresh and bright, with juicy and succulent fruit flavours of blackcurrants, green olives and a touch of leaf. The mouthfeel is enlivened by brisk acidity and underlined by modest tannin extraction lending a fine line. The acidity carries the wine. This shows good varietal expression in an accessible style. A blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and the remaining 4% Cabernet Franc and Cinsaut Noir fermented to 14.4% alc., the wine aged 14 months in French oak and tank. 17.0/20 Sep 2016 RRP $26.00
