Klein Constantia ‘Estate Red’ 2014

Blended Red from South Africa
Review Date : 27-Sep-2016
Dark, deep, black-red colour. This has a soft and sweetly ripe nose, with dark red berry fruit aromas along with plum and spice elements, very evenly presented, unfolding mellow waves of fruit from the dense core. The palate is rich and succulent, with plush and juicy fruit flavours of blackberries and blackcurrants, dark plums and subtle spice notes, forming a tight core. The fruit is underlined by very fine-grained, supple tannins and the wine flows positively, leading to a sustained finish with spicy oak. This is rich and sweet-fruited, with a fine, supple mouthfeel and line, and sensitively oaked. A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Shiraz, 14% Petit Verdot and 9% Malbec, fermented to 14.36% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 50% new French oak. 18.5/20 Sep 2016 RRP $49.00
