Klein Constantia Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from South Africa
Review Date : 27-Sep-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues. The nose is elegant and fresh with tightly concentrated citrus fruit aromas, along with subtle creamy barrel-ferment suggestions and nutty elements. Dry and light-medium bodied, the palate possesses light flavours of white stonefruits and citrus fruits, and subtle creamy, nutty oak. The acidity is the feature, lending liveliness and tension, and the wine carries to a tight, light, stonefruited finish. This has clarity and fruit focus. Predominantly clone 95 fruit, one-third fermented in 40% new puncheons and two-thirds fermented in tank to 12.56% alc. by indigenous yeasts, the wine aged 9 months on lees with light batonnage, avoiding MLF. 17.0/20 Sep 2016 RRP $51.00
