Kingfisher Bay Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-May-2012
Light purple-hued crimson-red colour, lighter on edge, very youthful. This has a fresh and intense nose of bright raspberry and cherry aromas with underlying notes of herbs and minerals. Attractive lifted and confectionary aromatics show whole berry characters. Medium-bodied, refreshingly bright and juicy flavours of raspberry confectionary are up-front and enlivened by brisk acidity. The tannin extraction is modest, allowing the fruit to feature. Some alcohol drive carries the fruit flavours to a moderately sustained finish. Drink this bright, juicy, uncomplicated Pinot Noir with antipasto, tapas and pizza over the next 2-3 years. Marlborough fruit fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in stainless-steel and French oak barrels. 16.5-/20 May 2012 RRP $18.95
