Kingfisher Bay Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Oct-2013
Fruit from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.6 g/L RS. A small portion was fermented in seasoned oak, undergoing MLF. Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour with lemon hues. The nose is fresh and steely, with penetrating aromas of white stonefruits and exotic florals, along with a suggestion of spices and honeysuckle. Dry to taste, this is light-bodied and modest in fruit flavour and depth. Clean nutty and floral notes follow a positive and vinous palate line with a little phenolic graininess, and the mouthfeel is zesty and fresh from background acidity. The wine finishes clean and dry. This is a light, crisp and gently mouthwatering dry Pinot Gris. Serve as an aperitif over the next 2 years. 16.0/20 Oct 2013 RRP $18.95
