Kina Cliffs Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 27-Aug-2016
Very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is elegant and slender in presentation with tightly bound aromas of passionfruit and wet-stone minerals, unfolding notes of fresh herbs with subtle gooseberry notes. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the flavours of gooseberries and green apples are entwined with passionfruit and mineral elements. The fruit is softly bound and a little reserved in expression. The mouthfeel is fresh and crisp, the acidity slippery, and the wine flows along a fine phenolic line with good energy, carrying to a dry, fine-textured finish of gooseberries, passionfruit and minerals. This is an elegant and slender Sauvignon Blanc with flavours of gooseberries, apples and passionfruit, and a fresh, slippery mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif, and with salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Sauvignon Blanc fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 3 months on light lees with some stirring. 220 cases made. 16.5+/20 Aug 2016 RRP $22.00
