Kina Beach Vineyard ‘Reserve’ Nelson Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 10-Jun-2014
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with garnet hues on edge. This has an elegant and firmly concentrated bouquet of black berry and black cherry fruit forming an amalgam with an array of savoury dried herbs, earthy minerals, nuances of resinous oak, and violetty florals. Medium-full bodied and tightly bound, the palate features a firm core of sweetly ripe black fruits entwined with mineral and dark herb notes. Some resinous and nutty oak detail adds interest. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained tannins and the mouthfeel balanced by good acid tension, carrying the wine to a long, tightly held, elegant finish with nutty oak. This is a tightly concentrated, black-fruited Pinot Noir complexed by minerally flavours. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 5+ years. Seven Pinot Noir clones, indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 22 days on skins and aged 10 months in 27% new French oak. 17.5/20 Jun 2014 RRP $40.00
