Kim Crawford ‘Reserve’ ‘Pansy!’ Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 13-Jan-2014
Hawke’s Bay fruit, 63% Merlot and 37% Malbec, given limited skin contact and cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 7.9 g/L RS. Bright, light ruby-pink colour with some depth and light purple hues on rim. This has a bright, primary fruited nose of raspberries, redcurrants and floral notes, along with soft and subtle mouthwatering herb nuances, unfolding raspberry and cream aromas in the glass. Off-dry to taste, the palate features an upfront core of concentrated raspberry and redcurrant fruit flavours. The fruit has sweetness and lusciousness, and is lifted with delicate confectionary elements. The mouthfeel is rounded with soft textures underlining the flow, but there is balanced and harmonious lively acidity providing good freshness. The palate leads to a light, lingering, dry-textured finish with confectionary hints and lacy acidity. This is an up-front off-dry rosé with a good core and sweet raspberry and cream flavours. Serve in al fresco dining and with antipasto over the next 2 years. 17.5/20 Jan 2014 RRP $22.99
