Kim Crawford ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Jan-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, very light on edge. The nose is elegant and lifted with aromatic and piquant herbal notes and white florals alongside gooseberry, nettle, grass and passionfruit elements. The bouquet is finely presented with good intensity. Dry to taste and medium-light bodied, soft, straightforward flavours of passionfruit are smoothly melded with citrus and herbal notes. The fruit is up-front and the mouthfeel mellow and soft-flowing with gentle underlying acidity. The palate recedes subtly to a light-flavoured, moderately long and soft-fruited finish with passionfruit and gooseberry nuances. This is an elegant and classical, smooth flowing Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Wairau and Awatere valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 5 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Jan 2014 RRP $22.99
