Kim Crawford ‘Reserve’ Marlborough/Central Otago Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - South Island
Review Date : 02-Dec-2015
Ruby-red colour with some depth, lighter on edge. This has a light, fresh-fruited, straightforward nose with moderately deep aromas of red berry and cherry fruits along with subtle nuances of herbs and spices, revealing red liquorice notes. Medium-bodied, the palate is light and juicy with sweet, easy and accessible flavours of red berry and cherry fruit. Some herbal and red liquorice detail adds interest. The fruit is supported by light tannin extraction and fresh, lacy acidity, and the wine leads to a light, clean, sweet red fruited finish. This is a light, fresh and easy, juicy Pinot Noir with red berry and cherry flavours. Serve with pasta, pizza and antipasto over the next 2+ years. Fruit from Marlborough and Central Otago, destemmed, given a cold soak and fermented, partially with indigenous yeasts to 13.1% alc., a portion of the wine aged in new and seasoned French oak barrels. 16.5-/20 Dec 2015 RRP $24.99
