Kerpen Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spatlese 2011

Riesling from Germany
Review Date : 28-Mar-2014
Very pale straw colour, near colourless on edge. The nose is very refined, tight and penetrating with aromas of steely lime fruit intermixed with gunflint reduction and clear-cut wet-stone minerality. Medium in sweetness, the mouthfeel is softly textured, unfolding layers of white stonefruits and lime with wet-stone minerals and earth. Soft acidity enhances the rich, lusciousness. Nuances of smoke and savoury funky flint emerge, and form a dense linearity which carries through to a concentrated and long finish. Marked by reduction on bouquet, this is soft and lush on palate. This spatlese will keep a decade. 8.0% alc., 78 g/L RS. 18.0+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $33.00
