Kerner Marlborough Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-May-2014
Fruit hand-picked and hand-sorted, WBP and fully barrel-fermented with indigenous yeasts to 13.76% alc., the wine aged 10 months in oak. Bright, full, light golden colour, pale on edge. The bouquet is full with ripe aromas of yellow stonefruits and citrus fruits along with mealy, nutty oak and savoury secondary development notes that open out in complex layers and build in depth. Medium-full bodied, the fruit flavours are up-front and mouthfilling with an integrated amalgam of ripe stonefruits and savoury citrus fruits, toasted nuts and oak. The fruit forms a concentrated core and the mouthfeel is rounded, but the palate has good underlying acidity providing liveliness and a slippery, smooth flow that carries to a long, toasty-nuanced finish. This is a full, flavoursome Chardonnay with ripe fruit and toasty oak that has come into maturity. Serve with roasted and grilled poultry and pork dishes over the next 3+ years. 18.0+/20 May 2014 RRP $27.99
