Chardonnay from USA
Review Date : 16-Aug-2022
Full, medium yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is elegantly full, with aromas of peach and nectarine interweave flint, creme brulee and spice. Full-bodied, concentrated aromas of peach and nectarine melded with caramel and butterscotch, lingering with nutmeg, cardamom and roasted hazelnut. A mineral The voluminous lush fruit is enriched by toasty oak and caramel elements flaunting a creamy, plush mouthfeel. The wine shows power; balanced acidity lengthens and drives a long toasty finish. This is an opulent Chardonnay with lush fruit and toasty caramel barrel elements on a creamy and generous palate. Match with roasted turkey and casserole over the next 8-10 years. 100% Chardonnay from Santa Barbara County, fermented to 14.5% alc, aged 8 months in 93% French oak (29% new), with the balance in American oak. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Aug 2022 RRP $45
