Full, deep ruby-red with a faint hint of garnet, lighter on edge. The wine has a full and powerful bouquet, rich aromas of bramble, cherries enriched by an amalgam of spice, medicinal herbs and smoke. Full-bodied, dark chocolate coasted bramble and cherries, unfolding spices, prune and a hint of smoky oak. The bright acidity enlivens the rich, dark chocolate grained tannins draw a long, savoury finish. A succulent, red-fruited Pinotage with lively acidity, spice and dark chocolate palate. Match with lamb stew and smoked brisket over the next 3-4 years. Handpicked, fermented to 14% alc over 3 weeks, spent a further 6 weeks post-ferment maceration, aged in 75% American oak and 25% French and Hungarian oak, blend with a percentage of Tnannt, Syrah and Merlot, for a total of 26 months. 18/20 pts (90 pts) Mar 2022 RRP $45
