Karikari Estate ‘Hell Hole’ Karikari Peninsula 2008

Blended Red from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 16-Feb-2011
Named after Kororareka, the ‘Hell Hole' of the Pacific, blended from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat, Merlot and Pinotage fermented to 13.0% alc. given French oak maturation. Bright, deep, ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has a fresh, fruity and up-front bouquet of red and black berry fruits, mint, pepper, spice and savoury game. Medium-full bodied on palate, the rich, robust dark berry and mint flavours are supported by firm tannins that provide good line and length. Drink with pizza, pasta and barbecued meats over the next 4-6+ years. 17.0-/20 RRP $22.00
