Kaimira Brightwater Semillon 2009

Semillon from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 27-Mar-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with light lemon-gold hues, paler on the rim. The bouquet is finely concentrated with a soft core of savoury grassy and waxy stonefruit aromas, along with secondary earthy and nutty notes and subtle oxidative elements adding detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has well-concentrated flavours of savoury grass and green stonefruit flavours along with waxy and nutty secondary notes with some oxidative nuances. The palate has a light, grainy texture, the phenolics lending body and presence, and the fruit is underlined by fine, crisp acidity. The wine carries to a lingering finish of grass and herbs. This is a concentrated Semillon with secondary flavours of savoury grass and stonefruits with waxy, nutty and oxidative detail on a crisp, textural palate. Match with Mediterranean fare and vegetables over the next 12 months. Fruit from the ‘Livingston Road’ vineyard, vines 12 y.o., hand-picked, WBP, and stainless-steel fermented to 12.8% alc. and <2 g.L RS, the wine aged 6 months on lees. 15.5+/20 Mar 2017 RRP $20.00
