Kaimira Brightwater Nelson Gewurztraminer 2009

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 07-Oct-2012
Bright, light golden-yellow colour. This has a very full, voluminous bouquet, quite broad in presentation, with secondary aromas of ripe tropical fruits, honey and hair-oil, all densely packed and interwoven. Medium-sweet to taste, this is full-bodied and generously mouthfilling, the alcohol adding warmth, though not overtly spirit. This is soft and luscious, with sweetness of exotic fruits, ginger, spices and honey, now showing some maturity notes, hair-oily with a creamy, unctuous texture. A wine with some decadence. Fruit from the 'Brightwater' vineyard, hand-picked, given skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.5% alc. and 30 g/L rs, some of the wine finishing ferment in barrel. 17.5+/20 Oct 2012
