Kahurangi Estate Nelson Dry Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 25-May-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. This has a very tightly bound and intensely penetrating nose with a seamless amalgam of lime fruit, white florals, savoury toast and honied nuances, and mouthwatering minerals at the core. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features tightly bound and firmly concentrated flavours of thirst-quenching lime fruit along with white florals, minerals and elements of toast and honey. This has considerable fruit extract lending a fine-textured grip and line, with integrated acidity adding a degree of tension and drive. The fruit intensity, texture and linearity carries to a long and sustained, mouthwatering finish with minerals and toast and fine textured grip. This is an intensely concentrated dry Riesling with fruit extract and linearity of lime, mineral and toasty flavours. Serve as an aperitif or with seafood over the next 5+ years. Fruit from the Kahurangi vineyard from vines planted in 1973, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 11.5% alc. and 3 g/L RS, TA 9.5 g/L and pH 2.83. 18.0+/20 May 2016 RRP $19.90
