Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, pale on rim. The nose is light with fresh, clean and pure aromas of gooseberries, cut grass and nettles, the fruit in the cooler spectrum showing stalky nuances, but also lifted by white florals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, light but penetrating flavours of gooseberries, nettles and cut grass show with sweetness and some juiciness. This has good depth and density, the wine flowing smoothly. The mouthfeel is zest and lively with acid bite, the acidity carrying the flavours to an elegant, lingering finish. This is an elegant, succulent and bracing Sauvignon Blanc with cool-spectrum grassy, nettle and gooseberry flavours and some stalky elements. Serve with seafood, salads and Pacific Rim fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the Awatere and Wairau Valleys, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. 16.5+/20 Apr 2015 RRP $14.99
