Ka Tahi Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 08-Apr-2015
Hawke’s Bay fruit fermented in stainless-steel to 13.1% alc. and approx. 4 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with gold-green hues and some depth. This has a fresh and voluminous, aromatic nose with pear and yellow stonefruits, exotic florals, suggestions of honeysuckle and lifted yeast esters. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, light flavours of stonefruits are lifted with delicate floral nuances, and show with a little richness and sweetness. The palate has good vinosity and presence lending a rounded mouthfeel, and the acidity is fresh and balanced, providing good energy, carrying the fruit to a light, gentle finish. This is a soft, rounded, dryish Pinot Gris with good aromatics and restrained fruit flavours. Match with mild Asian fare over the next 2+ years. 16.5/20 Apr 2015 RRP $14.99
