Full, even, light golden-yellow colour with some depth. The nose is well-proportioned with aromas of citrus and yellow stonefruits, entwined with waxy, nutty oak notes and nuances of lemon-curd MLF forming a tight core. Some creamy barrel work and oxidative hints add interest. Medium-bodied, the palate is softly concentrated with flavours of yellow stonefruits and nutty, resinous and waxy oak. The palate has linearity and balanced acidity lending freshness to the mouthfeel, and the wine carries to a lingering finish of nutty oak. This is a moderately concentrated Chardonnay with stonefruit and nutty flavours. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork, and with Mediterranean fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from Maraekakaho, 60% tank-fermented and 40% barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 6 months in 1-4 y.o. barrels with batonnage and MLF. 16.5/20 Jun 2016 RRP $14.99
