Julicher Martinborough Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 05-Nov-2013
Hand-picked Riesling from two estate blocks on Te Muna Road. WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 10.69% alc. and 14.82 g/L RS. Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a very fresh, intensely penetrating and finely concentrated bouquet of lemons and limes, the expression extremely beautifully pure and individual. Nuances of herbs and minerals unfold, adding detail. Off-dry to taste, tightly packed flavours of lemon and white florals are the feature. The fruit exudes a delicate richness lending a roundness to the palate line. The fruit is underlined by very fine phenolics and enlivened by crisp, racy acidity that provides great energy and carries the flavours to a very long and sustained finish. This is an intensely concentrated, pure, off-dry Riesling with subtly rich lemon flavours and racy acid line. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 4-5 years. 18.5+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $19.95
