Julicher Martinborough Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 11-Sep-2018
Full, even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full and voluminous with harmoniously entwined aromas of dark-red berry fruits along with an amalgam of dark-red florals, fragrant herbs and subtle earthy notes. This is refined in expression and has good intensity. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegant with bright and lively, finely concentrated flavours of dark-red berry fruit along with subtle notes of dark herbs and dark-red florals. The mouthfeel is luscious and vibrant with the sweet fruit supported by fine-grained tannin extraction lending a smooth-flowing line. Fresh, lacy acidity lends vitality and the wine carries to a bright, juicy finish. This is a bright and vibrant, elegantly concentrated Pinot Noir with dark-red fruits and subtle herb and floral lift on a fine-grained palate. Match with wild duck and pork over the next 5+ years. Hand-picked fruit, clones 5. 115, 667 and Abel, destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 25% new French oak. 18.8+/20 Sep 2018 RRP $45.00
