Julicher Martinborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 26-Apr-2016
Even ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues. This has an elegant and finely presented nose with aromas of fresh and ripe dark raspberry fruit along with notes of spiced plums, liquorice and subtle dark herbal detail, all harmoniously entwined and integrated. The mouthfeel is juicy and vibrant, and well-balanced by supple tannins and structure. The wine has plenty of textural and presence flows with good acid energy and tension which enriches the fruit. The wine carries smoothly to an elegant, long-lingering finish with sweet fruit nuances. This is an attractively rich and harmonious Pinot Noir with elegance, balance, and vibrant dark raspberry fruit supported by refined structure. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 5-6+ years. A barrel selection blend. Clones 5, 115, 667 and Abel, hand-picked, destemmed and fermented to 13.26% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 15% new French oak barrels. 18.5+/20 Apr 2016 RRP $42.00
