Jules Taylor ‘OTQ’ ‘Limited Release’ ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Jun-2017
Full, very dark purple-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. Youthful in appearance. The nose is elegantly proportioned with tightly bound and concentrated aromas of ripe blackberry and black cherry fruit, unveiling notes of blackberry liqueur and liquorice, and subtle hints of complexing mineral reduction, with nutty and charry oak suggestions. The aromatics grow in depth and intensity with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate is richly concentrated with ripe and sweet fruit flavours of blackberries and black cherries entwined with dark-red berry fruits. along with layers of liquorice, dark-red and violet florals and a complex amalgam of minerally reduction and nutty oak elements. The rich fruit is encased by fine-grained tannin structure with integrated acidity, and the wine carries to a solid, dense finish of black fruits and minerals. This is a ich and intensely concentrated black-fruited Pinot Noir with subtle notes of reduction on a fine, firm-structured palate. Match with grilled game meat dishes and casseroles over the next 6-7+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Meadowbank’ vineyard, in the Taylors Pass district, destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 33% new French oak. 18.0+/20 Jun 2017 RRP $43.00
