Jules Taylor ‘OTQ’ ‘Limited Release’ ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Jun-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with some depth and lemon-green hues. The nose is full and voluminous with well-concentrated aromas of white stonefruits and citrus fruit melded harmoniously with reductive gunflint and mineral complexities, unveiling nutty and toasty oak elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate has rich and lusciously sweet white stonefruit flavours seamlesslt integrated with gunflint, minerally reduction complexities, along with soft creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak notes. The richness is enhanced and balanced by crisp, fresh acidity, and the wine carries along a firm, concentrated core and line, leading to a well-packed, lingering finish. This is a rich, near succulent, complex and powerful Chardonnay with stonefruit, citrus and gunflint flavours entwined with creamy and nutty oak on a fresh, finely concentrated and textured palate. Match with grilled and roasted seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 4-5years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Meadowbank’ vineyard in the Taylor Pass district, WBP and indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 33% new French oak with 100% MLF. 19.0/20 Jun 2017 RRP $TBC
