Bright, very light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on the rim. The nose is very elegant and fine in presentation with a tight core of pungent passionfruit and ripe tropical fruit with subtle notes of nettles and thirst-quenching chalky minerals. The aromatics build in intensity in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with a tight core and line of sweet, pungent passionfruit with notes of tropical fruits, herbs and nettles. The palate has light, dry, thirst-quenching phenolic textures and the flavours with good acid energy along a dry-textured, elegant line, leading to a chalky, minerally finish. This is an elegant, taut and textured Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours on a fine, dry phenolic line. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 2 years. Fruit from Taylors Pass, Awatere and Omaka Valleys, Lower Wairau and Hawkesbury, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 0.6 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees for a short period. 18.0-/20 Sep 2018 RRP $23.90
