Bright straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, paler edged. The nose is elegant in proportion with a tight core of fresh white stonefruits with nuances of citrus fruit and subtle notes of fresh herbs along with delicate nutty lees and oak elements. This is fresh and thirst-quenching, revealing flint and mineral elements with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate is finely presented with subtle, but intricate flavours of white and yellow stonefruits with citrus fruit entwined with creamy barrel-fernt nuances, some nutty and toasty oak, and hints of lemon-curd MLF. The palate has fruit richness and lusciousness, forming a sweet core, with refreshing acidity enlivening the palate, which leads to a lingering, nutty, smoky finish. This is and elegant, rich and sweet-fruited, but refreshing Chardonnay with stonefruit flavours along with some creamy, nutty oak interest. Match with seafood and creamy poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Anderson’ Brancott Valley and ‘Meadowbank’ vineyard, Taylors Pass, WBP direct to barrel with light solids and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months on lees in barrel with partial MLF. 17.5+/20 Jul 2018 RRP $24.99
