Jules Taylor Gruner Veltliner 2022, Marlborough

Grüner Veltliner from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Oct-2022
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is expressive, gently penetrating pepper berry, floral, fennel and apple aromas. Medium-light bodied, aromas of ripe apple and pear interweave fennel, pepper berry and magnolia. The fruit is concentrated with an elegant expression, growing in volume on the palate. Lively, refined acidity lengthens and carries chalky minerals and delicate peppery spice to a long, elegant, dry finish. This Gruner Veltliner is carefully crafted and beautifully expressed with delicate aromatic and spice. Match with scallops and whitebait over the next 3-5 years. 100% Gruner Veltliner from a single vineyard in the Wairau subregion, handpicked, whole bunch pressed, settled, then fermented cool in stainless steel; a portion was pressed directly into old French oak, wild fermented and full MLF. 12.76%, 1.3g/l RS. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Oct 2022 RRP $25
