Josmeyer Alsace Grand Cru Riesling ‘Hengst’ 2009

Riesling from France - Alsace
Review Date : 07-Mar-2014
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with lemony-green hues. The bouquet is softly voluminous with a subtle and ethereal array of white florals, wet stone minerals and delicate citrus notes all beautifully integrated, unfolding layers of detail and richness. Dry to taste, the palate is subtle and softly textured with delicate waves of white floral fruit flavours entwined with minerals. The mouthfeel is one of finesse and refinement with ripe background acidity, lending softness that carries to a long, nuanced, mouthwatering finish. This is a wonderfully subtle, but layered Riesling of real beauty. It will develop over the next decade. 14.0% alc. 18.5+/20 Feb 2014 RRP $93.00
