Josmeyer Alsace Grand Cru Gewurztraminer ‘Hengst’ 2007

Gewurztraminer from France - Alsace
Review Date : 07-Mar-2014
Full, soft golden-hued straw-yellow colour, with some green-gold on rim. The bouquet is full and deep with striking aromas of root ginger, exotic florals, musk and spicy herbs that unfold real interest and detail. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, rich and luscious flavours of exotic florals, spices and herb-like root ginger fill the mouth. The flavours flow smoothly on an oily, near unctuous palate, with soft and low acidity contributing to the richness. The palate is supported by fine phenolic presence and the mouthfeel rounded and generous. There is no undue sensation of heat or alcohol, and the flavours carry through to a moderately rich, gentle finish with lingering spice nuances. A very harmonious Gewurztraminer with a suggestion of opulence. 6-8 years. 15.0% alc. 18.5/20 Feb 2014 RRP $90.00
