Joseph Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 2011

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 08-Jul-2014
Light, even, ruby-red colour. The bouquet is elegant with lifted and pure primary fruit aromas of pretty red berry fruits and red floral perfumes. There is a fine concentrated core underling the nose. Elegant and tightly bound on palate the fruitiness is restrained and allows the tannin extraction and brisk acidity to prevail. This is taut and sinewy in mouthfeel, but has good drive, vibrancy and fruit clarity. The wine has linearity, leading to a tight, dry-textured finish. This is an elegant, sinewy wine with the fruit yet to blossom. It will develop over the next 5-6 years. Vinified for Faiveley, the wine aged 14-16 months in oak, one-third new. 17.0+/20 Jul 2014 RRP $95.99
