Joseph Drouhin Santenay 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 19-Apr-2013
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with good depth. This has a full, solid and rounded nose of ripe dark red berry fruits infused with earth, game and dark florals entwined. Medium-full bodied, this is solid and rounded in mouthfeel, with plump ripe red fruit flavours encased in supple, matty tannins. The acidity is soft, and enhances the openness and accessibility on palate. The wine has generosity, and complexing, savoury notes of earth and undergrowth appear on the finish. This is a full, rounded and plump Santenay with ripe fruit and rustic interest. Serve over the next 5-6+ years. Aged 12-15 months in 10% new French oak barrels. 17.0+/20 Apr 2013 RRP $41.30
