Joseph Drouhin Puligny-Montrachet 2009

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 19-Apr-2013
Bright, even, light straw-yellow colour with golden glints. This has a deeply concentrated nose of ripe citrus and yellow stonefruit at the core, with nuances of toast adding interest. Elegantly proportioned, this has a soft-textured, but tightly concentrated and densely palate. The acidity is a little low, enhancing the roundness and richness. A core of hazelnutty, citrus fruit flavours along with toasty complexities form a rich, near creamy amalgam which flows smoothly to a long and sustained finish. This is a soft, smooth Puligny-Montrachet that has blossomed. Drink over the next 4-6+ years. Fully fermented and aged 12 months in 25% new French oak barrels. 18.5-/20 Apr 2013 RRP $82.10
