Joseph Drouhin Macon-Villages Blanc 2012

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 17-Apr-2014
Bright light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a light, softly packed and up-front nose of white stonefruits with hints of tropical fruits and nuts, quite clean and straightforward with good vinosity. Medium-bodied, dry stonefruit flavours feature on the palate with a good heart and line. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded with modest acidity, the fruit sweetness balanced by minerally and wet-stone phenolics. The palate flows to a light, sweet-citrus fruited finish. This is a clean, up-front, dry Macon white with a soft mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with poultry over the next 3 years. Fruit and must from contracted suppliers in Macon-Villages, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged in tank 6-8 months. 16.0/20 Apr 2014 RRP $25.99
