Joseph Drouhin Macon-Villages 2011

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 19-Apr-2013
Chardonnay fruit from the Macon, near Pouilly-Fuisse, the wine aged 6-8 months in stainless-steel. Straw-yellow with slight golden hues, this is fresh, light and simply expressed on nose with aromas of stonefruits and citrus, along with some floral lift. Dry and crisp, light lemon and nutty flavours show with linearity through the palate. The fruit sweetness and richness is somewhat modest and a little alcohol combines with acidity for drive. Though light and brisk, the fruit prevails and is the focus. One to drink in the next 2-3+ years. 16.0+/20 Apr 2013 RRP $23.95
