Joseph Drouhin ‘Laforet’ Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 09-Dec-2012
Pinot Noir fruit from various sites fermented to 12.5% alc., a portion of the wine aged in seasoned oak. Ruby-red colour with some depth, a little lighter on edge with slight purple hues. The nose is soft, gentle and evenly expressed with up-front, straightforward, ripe, red berry and strawberry fruit aromas, showing some warmth. Light-bodied and light-fruited, simple red cherry and berry fruit flavours show some sweetness and lusciousness. Some soft herb and funky savoury earth and game elements unfold in the glass. The palate has restrained tannin extraction which guides the wine to a light, dry, moderately sustained finish. This is an up-front, entry level burgundy with some sweetness of fruit and funky game elements. Serve with poultry and pork over the next 2-3+ years. 15.5+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $26.99
