Joseph Drouhin ‘Laforet’ Bourgogne Chardonnay 2012

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 17-Apr-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, pale on edge. The nose is elegant with ripe yellow stonefruit and citrus fruit aromas along with lifted nutty oak. This has freshness and vibrancy with minerally nuances emerging in the glass. Medium-bodied, an attractive and lively amalgam of citrus fruits and stonefruits is enriched by sweet, nutty oak notes. Fresh, balancing acidity enhances the brightness of the mouthfeel, and the flavours flow with good tension to a tight, lingering citrussy finish. This is an elegant Bourgogne with sweet oak elements enriching the citrussy fruit. Match with poultry and pork over the next 3+ years. Chardonnay fruit and must from contracted suppliers fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 7-8 months in tank and seasoned oak barrels. 16.5+/20 Apr 2014 RRP $29.99
