Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, very pale on edge. This has a fresh, zesty, aromatic nose od gooseberry fruit, limes, fresh herbs and subtle, mouthwatering chalky mineral notes along with attractive, lifted white floral elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features stylishly restrained, softly presented, juicy gooseberry fruit entwined with lime, herb and green apple detail. This has clarity and purity. Fresh, lacy acidity enlivens the mouthfeel and soft, fine textures provide a smooth flow. The wine leads to a delicate, gentle, moderately long, refreshingly dry finish. This is a stylish and elegant Sauvignon Blanc with gently sweet gooseberry flavours and soft, dry textures. Match with seafood and poultry, and Asian cuisine over the next 2+ years. Wairarapa fruit cool-fermented with 20% in seasoned German oak, partially with indigenous yeasts to 13.5% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on fine lees. 17.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP $20.00
