Johner Estate Wairarapa Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Sep-2015
Wairarapa fruit WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel with 20% in seasoned German oak 330 L barrels to 13.5% alc. and 13 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on fine lees. Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is elegantly fresh with delicate aromas of soft white florals and lime fruit, expressed with purity and clarity, revealing thirst-quenching mineral nuances. Medium in sweetness and medium-bodied, very delicate fruit flavours of limes and white florals show on the front palate and form a tight, moderately concentrated line. Very fine, dry phenolic textures emerge, with balanced, refreshing acidity to carry the wine with energy. The wine leads to a textured, dry finish with subtle floral nuances. This is a delicate, medium Riesling with a fresh mouthfeel and fine dry textures. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 3-4 years. 16.5+/20 Sep 2015 RRP $22.00
