Johner Estate Wairarapa Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 16-Apr-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, lighter edged. The nose is fresh with up-front apple and lime fruit aromas, lifted with yellow florals, revealing a good core with depth on aeration. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features fresh apple-like fruit flavours with nuances of lime, forming a fine-textured core and line. The wine flows with freshness and liveliness from crisp acidity, revealing subtle honied and floral elements. The flavours gently recede as the wine carries to a light, slender finish. This is an up-front medium-dry Riesling with apple-like fruit flavours and a refresh mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Riesling fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 13.9 g/L RS, TA 8.5 g/L and pH 3.14, the wine aged 4 months on lees. 16.5+/20 Apr 2015 RRP $22.00
