Johner Estate Wairarapa Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Sep-2013
Brilliant lemon-straw colour with light green hues. Very fresh, aromatic aromas of limes and lemons are enhanced by exotic florals and savoury honeysuckle notes and blossom to fill the nose. Medium-dry to taste, the palate features a strong, tightly bound core of exotic floral and citrus zest flavours along with honeysuckle elements. Crisp and brisk acidity and fine phenolic textures balance the up-front sweetness and richness, adding a firm linear drive. The acidity grows in mouthwatering freshness and carries the citrus flavours to a very long, nuanced finish. This is a crisp and racy off-dry Riesling with strong citrus and floral fruit depth. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 4-5+ years. Wairarapa fruit WBP and partially indigenous yeast fermented with 10% in 330 L seasoned barrels to 13.0% alc. and 13 g/L RS. 17.5+/20 Sep 2013 RRP $24.00
