Johner Estate Wairarapa Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Sep-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour, light on rim. This has a very fresh, tight and delicately expressed nose with lifted white stonefruits and subtle nutty, honeysuckle and flinty detail. Dryish to taste, soft, light and positive flavours of white stonefruits are intermixed with attractive white floral and honeysuckle notes. The mouthfeel is soft and smooth in texture with a gently concentrated core, and the palate is elegantly proportioned. The flavours flow seamlessly to a long, subtly sweet finish. This is a beautifully delicate and harmonious Pinot Gris with gentle stonefruit flavours and honied suggestions. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 3-4 years. Wairarapa fruit destemmed and fully indigenous yeast fermented with 80% in seasoned 300 L barrels to 14.0% alc., the wine undergoing batonnage. 17.0+/20 Sep 2013 RRP $24.00
