Johner Estate ‘Single Vineyard’ Gladstone Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Sep-2013
Fruit from the ‘Johner Estate’ partially WBP and partly indigenous yeast fermented with 10% in 330 L seasoned barrels to 13.5% alc. Bright, full straw-yellow colour with a light edge. This has a softly voluminous bouquet of restrained gooseberry and nectarine fruit aromas interwoven with delicate nuances of herbs, nuts and smoke. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, gooseberry and green stonefruit flavours unfold barrel-ferment nutty notes. The mouthfeel is smooth and harmonious, but with good freshness and acid liveliness providing linearity. The palate has weight and presence and carries the fruit to a soft-textured finish with integrated stonefruit and oak elements. This is a harmoniously balanced and soft-textured barrel-influenced Sauvignon Blanc. Match with herb marinated poultry and pork dishes over the next 3 years. 17.5-/20 Sep 2013 RRP $24.00
