Johner Estate Gladstone Sauvignon Blanc ‘Sur Lie’ 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 01-Mar-2011
Fruit from the Johner Estate, cool stainless-steel fermented to 13.9% alc, and 6.4 g/L rs, and given lees contact. Bright pale straw-yellow with green hues to the colour, this has a fresh, full, evenly expressed nose of ripe gooseberries and yellow stonefruits, along with minerally notes. Dry on palate, this has firmness and depth of gooseberry and bean fruit flavours, with a hint of smokiness, the mouthfeel enlivened by good acid freshness. The wine has richness and proportion and a sustained finish. Drink over 2-3 years with seafood, salads and poultry. 17.0/20 Mar 2011 RRP $22.00
