Johner Estate Gladstone Noble Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Sep-2015
Bright, pale straw colour with slight lemon-green hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is very tightly bound with piercingly fresh aromas of ripe gooseberry fruit, along with green stonefruit and herbal detail. The aromatics are mouthwatering and unveil suggestions of honeysuckle and lime marmalade, along with spice and nutty nuances. Very sweet and medium-bodied, racy acidity features on the palate, enlivening the fruit flavours of ripe and cooked gooseberries, greengages, tropical fruits, lime and honeysuckle. White florals lift the aromatic nature of the fruit and the palate follows a fine-textured line, driven by the brisk acidity. Hints of cream, nuts and lime marmalade add subtle detail. The wine flows with plenty of energy and tension carrying through to a bracing, textured finish. This is a crisp and bracing Sauvignon Blanc sweet wine with gooseberry and lime flavours and honeysuckle nuances. Serve with baked desserts over the next 4-5+ years. Fruit with 70% botrytis fermented to 12.5% alc. and 140 g/L RS, a portion of the wine aged 4 months in new oak. (375 ml) 16.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP $22.00
