Johner Estate Gladstone ‘Noble’ Pinot Noir 2012

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 08-Oct-2012
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues and a faint blush. The bouquet is very tightly bound and undeveloped, with delicate nuances of honeysuckle and fresh herbs, and a piquant steely stonefruit element. Very sweet and lush, the palate has an elegance of proportion to the concentrated sweetness and intense citrus fruit, stonefruit and honey flavours. Poised, steely acidity balances the lusciousness, and the palate has good tension, crispness and flow, without any cloying. Rich, honied, stonefruit flavours linger on a very long, sustained finish. Though somewhat undeveloped on bouquet, this rich and racy dessert wine has excellent lusciousness and length. Match with fruit desserts over the next 4-5 years. Pinot Noir fruit with botrytis infection fermented to 12.7% alc. and 125 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees 3 months. (375 ml) 17.5/20 Oct 2012 RRP $22.00
