Johner Estate Gladstone ‘Noble’ Pinot Noir 2009

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 23-Apr-2011
Made in the fashion of Assmanhausen late harvest Pinot Noir from the Rheingau, Germany. 90% botrytised Pinot Noir fruit fermented to 9.0% alc. and 170 g/L rs. Light golden straw with a peach blush to the colour, this has a lifted nose showing volatility alongside honey, red currant jelly and caramelised fruit aromas. Very rich, sweet and mouthfilling, this has a soft-textured palate showing delicate red currant fruit flavours along with honey and marmalade. The wine has breadth and the faintest tannin line through the palate, with sufficient, crisp acidity on the finish. A wine of subtle and intriguing flavours, but considerable richness and lusciousness that should provide interesting after dinner sipping for the next 4-5+ years. (375 ml) 17.5+/20 March 2011 RRP $22.00
