Johanneshof Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Aug-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is tightly bound and slender in presentation with a fine core of white stonefruits, gooseberries, fresh herbs and steely, thirst-quenching minerals. Delicate white floral notes emerge to provide an aromatic lift. Dryish to taste and medium-light bodied, the fruit is elegant and tightly held, unfolding delicate flavours of gooseberries and green stonefruits, fresh herbs, white florals and dry minerals. Mouthwatering, lacy acidity enlivens the palate and provides good energy and tension, the wine flowing along a fine-textured line leading to a light, but long and lingering finish of gooseberries, florals and minerals. This is a tight and slender Sauvignon Blanc with delicate, thirst-quenching gooseberry, floral and mineral flavours. Serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Lower Wairau, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 6.6 g/L RS, the wine given light lees contact. 17.0/20 Aug 2015 RRP $24.00
